Doors trimmed for new carpet in Seddon
Seddon, Melbourne ·
Dave in Seddon had just had plush new carpet laid throughout his hallway — and suddenly every door was dragging across it. It's a common problem: the new carpet pile sits higher than the old flooring, so doors that swung fine the week before start catching and rubbing on the fresh carpet.
We took each door off, planed them down to clear the new carpet height, then re-hung and checked every one for a clean, even swing. The result: doors that glide over the carpet with clearance to spare, and not a mark on the new pile.
If you've got new flooring going in — or doors that already catch — it's a quick, tidy fix we do all the time across Seddon and the inner west.
